He only wanted to show off his new tattoo.

But Instagram followers of Swedish politician Lars Ohly got more than they bargained for when he also accidentally flashed his genitals in the snap.

The 56-year-old quickly removed the picture, which was intended to only be of Liverpool Football Club’s liver bird on his leg, from the social media site.

But it didn’t stop the image of the former Left Party leader’s crown jewels from being saved and going viral.

The country’s Foreign Minister Carl Bildt, of the rival Moderate Party, joked, “Congratulations. Finally, after all these years you’ve made a genuine public breakthrough.”

And former Social Democrat leader Håkan Juholt texted him to say, “I’d planned to grill sausages tonight but now it’s going to be chicken,” reports The Local.

Ohly has vowed to become more careful about what he uploads.

Ohly, however, said he wasn’t that embarrassed by the blunder but admitted he’d be more careful of what he posts in future.

“Haha, I accidentally posted a picture on Instagram that showed more than intended,” he told AFP. “Now corrected.”

He later tweeted, “Summer’s wonderful. The willy picture is today’s hot topic. Completely by accident, though. The future will see a more thorough uploading review process.”
