Elvis Duran is a man about town as he searches high and low for a new apartment in the city.
The man New York wakes up with in the morning is having a rough time finding a place to rest his head. Sources close to Elvis Duran tell us that while recently looking for a new apartment, the Z100 morning deejay checked out party planner Colin Cowie’s Flatiron District penthouse, where he missed a step and wound up sprawled out on the floor.
“No one really rushed to help him, because they were in such shock and disbelief that Elvis Duran just fell down the stairs!” claims a pal of his. For the deejay’s friends and associates alike, helping him find a new pad has become almost farcical.
“For close to a year we have shown him every apartment that fits his criteria and a few that I had to trick him into seeing, just so he wouldn’t play that ‘I am homeless and nobody cares’ game,” says Duran’s broker Michael Moran, who works for Douglas Elliman Real Estate. “What could be more entertaining the watching him fall down a couple of steps a few times?”
Moran says Duran has toyed with getting a place that has a dumbwaiter for his dog Max, and wants a private terrace where he and his partner, Alex, can grow tomatoes. So far, Duran has seen more than a couple of dozen places. He is especially interested in Tribeca, where he now has a two-bedroom apartment.
“As far as how many homes we have shown Elvis, that doesn’t really matter,” says Moran. “What matters is we will continue showing him homes until he walks in and his jaw drops.”
It makes sense that Duran’s house would get bigger. In March, his ginormous 7-million-person following got even bigger when his show expanded into the Austin, Tex., and St. Louis markets, giving him the largest percentage of morning-show listeners in the city, according to his spokesman Steven Levine. Surely Duran deserves a place with sweeping views over the town that loves him.
“Picky? Yes he is a little bit picky,” says Moran. “But in the end, doesn’t he deserve what he wants?”

Raven-Symone says she’s delighted with new laws allowing gays to marry.
RAVEN’s OUTRAGEOUSLY HAPPY
That’s so Raven. Former “Cosby Show” cutie pie Raven-Symone all but officially came out on Friday, tweeting, “I can finally get married! Yay government! So proud of you.” Toofab.com reports she then fired off an email to them saying, “I am very happy that gay marriage is opening up around the country and is being accepted. I was excited to hear today that more states legalized gay marriage. I, however am not currently getting married, but it is great to know I can now, should I wish to.” Raven-Symone’s reps didn’t get back to us.

Comedian Tom Cotter says ‘America’s Got Talent’ was a tougher gig when Piers Morgan was with the show.
‘TALENT’ SUFFERED PIERS PRESSURE
“America’s Got Talent” alum Tom Cotter says the show, now taping at Radio City Music Hall, has come a long way from when Piers Morgan was a judge. “When Piers Morgan was there it was a lot tougher,” Cotter joked with us from Las Vegas, where he’d just performed. “He had a stick surgically implanted in his rear end when he was a kid in Britain. He had his sense of humor physically removed.” But Cotter says judge Howard Stern gets it. “Howard, they call him a radio personality, but he’s a comedian.”
Lee Daniels wanted to avoid a hot ticket — for his car — at a ‘Butler’ screening in midtown.
OPRAH’S ‘BUTLER’ SERVES STREET SCENE
While Oprah Winfrey and her pals attended a private screening of “The Butler” at midtown’s Hearst Tower, director Lee Daniels was spotted hobnobbing with area meter maids to make sure they knew that his car, which he shared with Forest Whitaker, wasn’t ticketed while waiting. According to our spy, “A quick photo [with officers] did the job.” Barbara Walters’ car was also kept nearby so the 83-year-old news legend could make a quick escape.
Rihanna sneaks out of Playhouse nightclub in Hollywood, showing off her sheer black dress. She just missed Karrueche Tran, Chris Brown‘s ex-girlfriend.
RIRI’S RISKY TRAN-SIT
Talk about a close encounter. Rihanna, walking tall with her new short and curly coif, nearly bumped into Chris Brown’s ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran outside Playhouse nightclub in Los Angeles on Wednesday. The two women have gotten into Twitter and Instagram feuds in the past, but Tran made sure to high-tail it toward the exit about 2:15 a.m., just six minutes before the “Diamonds” singer arrived in a sheer black dress revealing major side butt. Had there been a brawl, we would have put our money on the newly weave-free RiRi.
Karrueche Tran left Playhouse in Hollywood just 6 minutes before Rihanna arrived — was there a tip off?
BASS, TYLER HAVE SELFIE-CONTROL
They’re not exactly spring chickens anymore, but Lance Bass, 34, and “Archer” star Aisha Tyler, 42, did their best to act like teens at CW’s Young Hollywood Awards, presented by Crest 3D White and SodaStream. Between Bass’s gelled-out pompadour and Tyler’s tiny sequined dress, they managed to pull it off. And if there’s one way to connect with kids these days, it’s through social media. Proving their know-how, the event hosts posed for a red-carpet selfie.
STERN LANDS BIG TALENT
“America’s Got Talent” judge Howard Stern is finally going to see an act he doesn’t need to vote on. Stern, along with wife Beth, tennis legend John McEnroe and actor/musician Michael McGlone, will be entertained by Counting Crows singer Adam Duritz Saturday at the La Palestra Kids Benefit in East Hampton.
