Queens was tagged by the elusive street artist Banksy on Monday.

Steady streams of gawkers – alerted to the latest sighting via social media – came to survey the graffiti maven’s latest work along 38th Ave. in Woodside.

“I left brain surgery for this,” said Matthew Bittner, 34, who works for a medical imaging company. “It’s like a New York City treasure hunt.”

A crowd quickly gathered at a Woodside, Queens corner to see the latest work by Banksy, who is using New York City as a canvas during a monthlong “residency.”

The British-born aerosol aficionado’s newest work depicts a man beginning to scrub away the words, “What we do in life echoes in Eternity.”

Banksy confirmed on his blog that the stenciled man and crisp pink script was his handiwork.

“Some people criticize me for using sources that are a bit low brow (this quote is from ‘Gladiator’) but you know what? ‘I’m just going to use that hostility to make me stronger, not weaker,’ as Kelly Rowland said on ‘The X Factor,’” he wrote.
