Miley Cyrus has some reason to smile – her latest CD, ‘Bangerz,’ hit the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart.
After all the ink, chatter, and twerks, Miley Cyrus wracked up only passable opening numbers for her new CD, “Bangerz.”
Yes, her album will debut at No. 1 on this week’s Billboard Top 200 CD chart, according to figures revealed Tuesday by Hitsdailydouble.com. (Official chart positions from Billboard won’t be revealed until Wednesday afternoon). And, yes, the album outsold the opening week numbers of Cyrus’ last work, 2010’s “Can’t Be Tamed,” by more than two to one.
Miley Cyrus’ ‘Bangerz’ didn’t boast the big numbers that Drake or Justin Timberlake enjoyed recently.
But “Bangerz” still only pushed around 274,000 copies – a respectable figure, but hardly mega numbers. Drake moved over 650,000 of his new album several weeks ago – without a trace of scandal on his side. And Justin Timberlake’s “The 20/20 Experience” holds the record for this year, with starting sales of over 900,000.
