A Pantene commercial from the Philippines that takes on gender stereotypes in the workplace has caught the attention of a woman who knows a thing or two about the subject.

On Saturday, Sheryl Sandberg, the COO of Facebook and author of “Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead,” endorsed the viral beauty ad on social media.

When a man gives a speech, it may be described as ‘persuasive,’ but people may judge a woman who speaks that way as ‘pushy,’ Pantene points out in a viral ad.

When a man gives a speech, it may be described as ‘persuasive,’ but people may judge a woman who speaks that way as ‘pushy,’ Pantene points out in a viral ad.

“This is one of the most powerful videos I have ever seen illustrating how when women and men do the same things, they are seen in completely different ways,” she wrote on her Facebook page. “Really worth watching.”

The one-minute clip shows male and female professionals in parallel situations receiving different labels. For example, the man is seen as a “boss” while the woman is viewed as “bossy.” A man is “persuasive” but a woman is “pushy.” A “dedicated” dad works late into the night but only a “selfish” mom does the same.

All of this is set to a version of Tears for Fears’ “Mad World.”

“It’s time we put an end to labels against women,” the video’s YouTube description reads. “Pantene believes that when you stand strong, you shine.”
